The TNT Championship is a professional wrestling world heavyweight championship owned by World Elite Wrestling (WEW). It is currently the highest ranked championship in Top Notch Training (TNT) and is primarily defended in TNT's Elitist division. It was unveiled on September 11, 2013 on WEW.com along with the TNT Women's Championship. Like most professional wrestling championships, the title is won via the result of a scripted match.
In 2013 after surpassing two years of WEW being around it was announced that a third brand would be brought in and would be used as a developmental territory for upcoming Elitists and Starlets to hone their craft before coming up to the main rosters, later revealed as Top Notch Training (TNT). With that decision being made it was made known that the WEW TV Championship was being deactivated in favor of a new championship for the developmental territory. Originally they were going to simply move the Television Championship down to the third brand, but decided against it. The TNT Championship was officially unveiled on WEW.com on September 11, 2013 along with the TNT Women's Championship.
It was revealed that a tournament would take place to crown the first ever TNT Champion. The tournament will begin on the December 19, 2013 reboot episode of TNT. In the first round, Adam Dunn defeated Jeffrey by pinfall, Mikal Jordan defeated Justin Blade by pinfall and Travis Harris defeated Stefan Raab by pinfall. It was later revealed that Dunn, Harris and Jordan would face off in a triple threat match at the first ever iPPV Shine for the vacant TNT Championship, Harris would go on to win that match and thus became the first ever TNT Champion.
